Basilica of Santa Giustina
The Basilica of Santa Giustina is one of the most revered churches not only in Padua, but also in the whole of Italy. Suffice it to say that several saints are buried under the arches of the church. The basilica contains the relics of one of the four Evangelists, Luke.
Basilica of St. Anthony of Padua
The Basilica of St. Anthony of Padua is the largest and most significant church in Padua. It is owned and under the jurisdiction of the Vatican and is considered one of the most powerful churches in Italy. The basilica was built in 1232 on the site of the former monastery where St. Anthony lived and received pilgrims.
Scrovegni Chapel
The Scrovegni Chapel can be called a real treasure trove of Western art. The great Giotto painted the chapel with frescoes that were revolutionary for their time. It should be noted that this happened long before the Renaissance, during the complete domination of the Gothic style in art.
Cafe Pedrocchi
Cafe Pedrocchi is also called “Cafe without doors”. The fact is that the cafe’s premises have not been closed for 85 years, starting in 1831. Cafe Pedrocchi is one of the attractions of Padua, thanks to which it is called the “city without three “without””.
Padua Cathedral
Padua Cathedral is considered the main religious building in the city, although it is inferior in size to the Basilica of St. Anthony of Padua. Today’s cathedral is already the third building to be erected on this site. The first two cathedrals were razed to the ground.
