The ski season in Argentina lasts from about mid-June to mid-October. It is proposed to ride along the most picturesque southern spurs of the Andes, where steady snow falls “in winter”. The infrastructure is well developed: everything from hotels to ski lifts is maintained in very good condition.
San Carlos de Bariloche
San Carlos de Bariloche, nicknamed the Argentine Switzerland for the extraordinary beauty of nature, delicious chocolate and rich nightlife, offers fans of skiing 47 trails with a total length of 70 km. Location — slopes of the Otto and Katedral mountains, elevation difference — 2388-1400 m. There is also the best six-seat cabin lift in the country. About half of the trails are of medium difficulty, about a quarter are black. The resort also has a snow park with a platform for freestyle skiing and snowboarding.
Cerro-Catedral
Cerro Catedral is one of the first ski resorts on the continent, located at an altitude of 1030 m. The “chip” of Cerro Catedral is directly adjacent to the Nahuel Huapi National Park, where skiers are happy to go on excursions. There are 53 routes laid here, about 60% of which are intended for “average people”. The total length of the trails is 103 km . The snow here is beautiful both at the beginning and at the end of the season, thanks to powerful snow cannons. The resort has 40 modern lifts of all types.
Cerro-Castor
Cerro Castor has the proud title of the southernmost ski resort in the world and, in addition, the youngest in Argentina — he is just over 12 years old. Stable temperatures throughout the winter guarantee fluffy and high-quality snow. The height difference is 772 m with ski areas located at altitudes from 1057 to 195 m. There are 19 trails and 20 km of off-piste routes in Cerro Castor. About a third of the tracks are green and blue, a quarter are red, and there are 2 tracks for pros.
Las Legnas
Las Legnas is a popular place for virgin skiing, more than 17 thousand hectares are allocated for it here. For those who are not ready to rush headlong through untouched snow, 30 trails of different difficulty levels are offered, serviced by 13 lifts. The height of the resort is 2240 m.
