The coves and islands surrounding Phuket are breathtaking. But did you know that Phuket itself has no less beautiful secluded beaches?

Being one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, Phuket nevertheless knows how to keep its secrets. And although some of its areas are really filled with tourists, the island still has many unspoilt corners and quiet beaches.

1. Panwa Beach
Panwa Beach, known among locals as Khao Kad Beach, is one of the least visited and secluded beaches in Phuket. This peaceful and beautiful place is located on the east coast of Phuket, about 8 kilometers from Phuket Town. Recently, the number of luxury hotels, villas and condominiums in the Panwa area has increased, but the beach is still sparsely populated. Coarse sand and shallow water make it difficult to swim on the Panwa, so the beach is not crowded with tourists. Panwa Beach with its unique Thai charm and stunning views of Chalong Bay and Lon Island will be one of the highlights of your cruise.

2. Ao Yong Beach
Ao Yon Beach is located south of Cape Panwa. Ao Yong consists of two parts separated by a rocky promontory. There is a large shrimp farm on one of them. A little further behind the beach there is a waterfall. As well as from Panwa Beach, Ao Yong offers a wonderful panoramic view of Chalong Bay and Lon Island. It’s just a fabulous place: coconut palms create a secluded shade on a snow-white beach with turquoise water. This is one of our most favorite quiet beaches in Phuket, which is definitely worth a visit.

3. Laem Ka Beach
Laem Ka is a secluded beach located in the south of Phuket Island near Rawai Beach. Hidden from prying eyes, this is one of the most beloved beaches of the locals. There is a lot of shade on this 150-meter beach, which makes it an ideal place for relaxing, walking, reading or picnicking. Laem Ka Beach is the only beach on the eastern tip of Phuket where you can swim. This is especially true for its northern part, but even the rocky southern part of the beach is great for swimming and snorkeling at high tide. This is another corner where you can enjoy stunning views of the sea and surrounding islands during your yacht tour in Phuket.

4. Ao San Beach
Located in the southwest of Phuket, this beach is ideal for diving and snorkeling even in low season. It consists of three small beaches connected by short trails and separated by rocky headlands. Its length is about 200 meters, and there are many rocks and corals on its shores. In addition, there is dense vegetation on the beach, which provides shade and coolness during the hottest time of the day. The best thing about Ao San Beach is that few people know about it because of its hidden location, so it is usually quiet and peaceful there.

5. Freedom Beach
Freedom Beach is just a few minutes from the crowded Patong, but the atmosphere there is completely different. Access by land to this oasis, hidden from prying eyes, is hampered by a very steep slope. Most visitors get to Freedom Beach on long—tail boats at an inflated price, so renting a private yacht or boat is the best and more affordable way to visit this paradise. Looking at the pristine beauty of this place, you can understand what Phuket was like a few decades ago. This place is great for scuba diving. Here you can also try your hand at team sports such as beach soccer and volleyball.

6. Laem Sing Beach
Like Freedom Beach, Laem Sing can only be reached by going down a steep slope. At least, that was the case until the beach was closed to visitors in early 2018. Currently, this small bay can only be reached by boat, which adds even more exclusivity to this place. Laem Sing Beach is one of the most beautiful secluded beaches in Phuket. It is located on the west coast between Kamala and Surin. Its length is 150 meters. It is surrounded by palm trees and decorated with large stones. Enjoy absolute peace and quiet on your yacht while doing water sports.

7. Pansy Beach
Unlike its neighbor Surin, Pansy Beach is much quieter. The privacy was the result of the division of its territory between two luxury hotels, which closed public access to it. It is almost impossible to get to this wide, beautiful beach by land, except to book a room at The Surin or Amanpuri Resort hotels. Renting a yacht in Phuket is a great way to visit this wonderful place. Anchor in the stunning bay, go snorkeling, stroll along the long beach and visit one of the resorts to watch the sunset or have dinner.

8. Layan Beach
Layan Beach is perhaps the longest of all the quiet beaches in Phuket. It is part of a 6 km long beach on the west coast called Bang Tao in the south and Layan in the north. Layan Beach is famous for its calm waters and many shady corners, ideal for relaxing. Sirinat National Park is located nearby. The beach is protected by the small island of Ko Kala on the north side. The main visitors to the beach are locals and expats. It is great for swimming, paddling on soup boards and just relaxing with family and friends.

9. Banana Beach
Banana Beach is one of the most intimate secrets of Phuket. Its length is 180 meters. It is located between Bang Tao and Nai Ton beaches. This is another magnificent beach with white sand and clear water, which few people know about, although in recent years it has become more popular among tourists. Banana Beach is ideal for family holidays, swimming and snorkeling. Include it in the itinerary of your yacht excursion and find out what a real tropical paradise is.

10. Nai Yang Beach
Nai Yang Beach on the northwest coast of Phuket is not the quietest in terms of coastal life, but it is definitely one of the most peaceful places to anchor during the high season from November to April. This cozy beach has everything: small Thai cafes and bars, fine restaurants in the luxurious resort hotels The Slate and Phuket Marriott Nai Yang Resort, several shops. And all this is surrounded by tall casuarinas away from the noisy road.
