Health

There is probably no topic that is discussed as often as the topic of smoking. For many decades, experts have been arguing about how harmful it is and how to deal with this bad habit. However, one thing is certain: smoking actually harms not only the lungs, but also other vital organs of our body.

According to scientists, this bad habit takes an average of ten years of life. This is evidenced by the results of a study by scientists from Oxford University. The study, which claims to be the largest analysis of the health status of smokers in history, indeed confirms that nicotine is gradually killing even the healthiest person. The mixture of tar, tobacco and nicotine in a cigarette is harmful not only for the horse, according to a well-known saying, but also for the strongest person.

According to Sky News in the early 1950s, when the smoking fashion reached its peak in popularity in the country. Only the baby did not smoke at that time. At that time, four out of five men and almost half of the total female population were addicted to tobacco. It was then that a large-scale study of the effects of smoking on the human body began. It was important for specialists to determine how harmful this popular habit is and what kind of harm it causes to health.

The study lasted for 60 years. Only more than half a century later, after analyzing the lives of an entire generation of British smokers, scientists at Oxford University came to disappointing conclusions. They published the results of this study in a scientific report that their colleagues from similar research centers in other countries were immediately interested in.

As it turned out, smoking is even more dangerous for humans than was previously thought. Tobacco is harmful and even fatal to life. Through this study, scientists were able to prove a direct link between how long a person smokes and the risk of premature death. The results shocked even the most trained specialists.

After observing the history of 1.3 million women of all ages who were susceptible to diseases due to addiction during the reporting period, experts came to the unequivocal conclusion that those who smokes for a lifetime, dying at least ten years before those lucky willpower who were able to quit smoking.

Thanks to this study, the conclusion of which confirmed all previous assumptions about the dangers and dangers of this habit: the sooner a person stops smoking, the longer he will live, and the his body will be healthier.

Scientists have shown that if you stop smoking before the age of 30, the risk of associated diseases, primarily oncology, is drastically reduced — by 97 percent. There is almost a 100% chance that you will live a long life. If a person is unable to cope with tobacco addiction even after 40, then the risk of aging, serious illnesses, and, consequently, the risk of premature death increases at least ten times.

According to British researchers, of course, heavy smokers suffer first of all. However, according to experts, even those who just “dabble” by smoking one to several cigarettes a day die prematurely twice as often as those who have never smoked. Scientists say that those who have never tasted a cigarette have every chance to live a long life.

Although the study was conducted among women, its findings are “identical for men as well.” This is what experts from the Oxford Science Center, who devoted a lot of time to their work, say at the end of this large-scale report.

It is known that today a quarter of the residents of Foggy Albion smoke in the UK. It is very difficult for both women and men to overcome such a bad habit, which, as it turned out, is equally harmful for both sexes.
