The Swedish music service Spotify has decided to find out the connection between music, romance and the art of seduction. In the study, experts interviewed 2,000 people aged 18 to 91 from the UK and found that music is sexually stimulating for many people. For example, 40 percent of those who put on musical compositions as a background said that the music excited them more than the touch of their partner.
Daniel Mullensiefen, a London-based music psychologist who conducted the study, explained that music activates the same brain centers that respond to rewards, such as food, drugs, and sex.
In addition, some songs, such as Queen's “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Sex on Fire” by Kings of Leon, and “Angels” by British singer Robbie Williams were rated “better than sex”.
A list of songs people play while having sex, during a romantic dinner, and for seduction has also been compiled.
Although the list is mostly dominated by British hits, experts believe that the best melodies for setting the right mood for sex are very similar. These are mainly songs with a wide dynamic range, using a “high chest voice” and hoarseness.
