Russian archaeologists who excavated Mit Rahina discovered part of the white wall of Memphis, the first capital of Ancient Egypt.

In addition, fragments of furnaces for the production of ceramic products and bronze tools were found.

Now we can say with confidence that many years of excavations by archaeologists, taking place in one of the hilly areas of Egypt, have been crowned with success.

Local residents and Egyptian authorities have already called this discovery “historically important”.

An ancient archaeological find

Scientists from Russia, who had been working in the area for many years, were excavating almost blindly, since the exact location of the ancient capital was not known. The legendary “white walls of Memphis” are five thousand years old.

The Minister of Antiquities, Mamdouh el-Damati, noted that such a discovery is of particular value for science in general and archaeology in particular.

In his opinion, such findings help people get more information about the city, which played a special role in politics, religion and the economy of the ancient world.

Ancient civilization and archaeological discoveries

Of particular interest to scientists is the age of this find, which dates not even centuries, but thousands of years.

Back in the 19th century, scientists began searching for the remains of ancient Memphis, the city that was the first capital of Ancient Egypt.

Earlier, archaeologists have discovered the tombs of the Egyptian rich, parts of sculptures, as well as some suburban buildings. Experts have also carefully studied local pyramids.

But the legendary white walls of the first capital have been found only now. Twenty kilometers south of Cairo, Russian archaeologists have found one of the most important archaeological finds in recent years.

According to the head of the mission of archaeologists, excavation work on this site will continue, as scientists are confident that they will be able to find the rest of the wall.

The Saqqara area, where Russian specialists work, is located south of present-day Cairo.

Many ancient finds have been found in this area that are of particular value for modern science and shed light on the secrets of ancient civilizations.

Scientists have discovered in this part of Egypt the famous stepped pyramid of Djoser and the equally famous statue of Ramses II.
