A terrible and ridiculous incident occurred on Friday, August 17 in an American hospital. William Leo McDouel, 83, a resident of Orange, Southern California, confessed to killing his roommate Man Van Nguyen. It should be added that the victim was also elderly. The 94-year-old Vietnamese underwent surgery a few days ago. The killer and the victim had the same diagnosis — a hip fracture. Ironically, both elderly men ended up in the same hospital room.
According to Leo, the reason for the bloody retribution against the old man was the voice of the unfortunate Vietnamese, or rather his complete absence. Mann Wang sang songs in his native language, which annoyed his roommate wildly. McDougall endured for a long time, making a couple of uneffective remarks, broke down the door of one of the lockers and, going to the “singer” lying on the bed, hit the Vietnamese on the head with all his might three times.
Several nurses ran to the noise. The medical staff was just shocked by what happened. Now the elderly man faces imprisonment for up to 25 years.
McDougall is far from being the world's oldest murderer. You can recall an incident in April this year when Clara Tan, a 92-year-old Australian woman, killed her husband, 98-year-old Chin Yan Teng. It is amazing that the couple has lived together for 70 years. Clara broke an unpleasant record in this way and became the oldest woman to commit such a serious crime.
