How to chat with a narcissist man
If you're paired with a narcissist man and want to break free from this relationship, you'll need time, patience, and support.
There are several ways you can use to stop being manipulated and dominated by a man in your life.
1. Don't give in to emotions
Don't let aggression or toxic behavior influence your response. Most likely, you will be accused of being too sensitive and emotional.
However, if you do give in to emotions, stay calm and don't let it make you angry. Let him be as angry as he wants.
The calmer you are, the more annoyed the narcissist will be. Stay detached and keep your composure.
2. Stop apologizing

Eliminate the word “sorry” from your vocabulary. Although a man may be trying to pretend to be a victim, remember that you are the one who is being exploited, used, and insulted.
His behavior is not your fault. Your apology won't correct his behavior. If you keep apologizing to defuse the situation, it will only encourage him to further manipulate you.
Don't constantly apologize for something you didn't do.
3. Insist on staying on topic
Narcissists tend to change the subject during a conversation to regain attention. They're good at using words to hurt you and maintain a dominant position. Therefore, constantly remind them to stick to a given topic.
Do not try to react to or confront the narcissist, as he is a clever manipulator. Once you react, he'll make you look “bad” in a relationship.
4. Make a silence
Narcissists love to bully others, and they'll continue to do so if you play by their rules. If a man treats you disrespectfully, don't react to him.
A narcissist needs attention like oxygen. If you keep responding to him, he'll keep you trapped in accusations and insults. Therefore, refuse to communicate with him until he begins to show respect.
Such a man is most afraid of not getting approval and confirmation from you.
5. Use his name when talking
Addressing a man by name can help you take back control of the situation.
Repeat his name over and over again throughout the conversation, looking him in the eye.
This behavior can make the narcissist anxious and show that you are not afraid of him.
6. Take a firm stand
Speak for yourself in a calm and gentle manner. Tell your man how his words and behavior affect your mental and emotional state.
Set clear boundaries, say no when you need to, and let him know what's unacceptable and what behavior you expect him to do.
While a narcissist may not pay attention to or ignore your personal boundaries, be strong and protect them at all costs, but approach everything wisely.
7. Avoid trying to get the better of him

Narcissists are characterized by toxic behavior and are difficult to outsmart in their own manipulations. As angry or upset as you are, don't stoop to their level.
This will only make things worse for you and make things better for them.
Control your emotions and don't let the narcissist use them against you. Avoid the urge to fight back and don't give them any power over you.
8. Catch him lying
While it's advisable to avoid a direct encounter with a narcissist man, don't be afraid to voice things if things don't fit together. Voice your concerns and let him know you're aware of his deceptive tactics.
Calmly resist attempts to fool you or make you look mentally unstable.
Talk to a man in front of others, ask him to repeat what he said, you can pretend not to understand him, and ask him to write to you. You can also make audio and video recordings of your communication and record what is happening.
The narcissist tries to distort the truth to get his way, so make sure your communication is transparent and verifiable.
9. Overcome fear
Abuser narcissists can make you anxious and afraid, and they use that fear to control you. But you don't have to be scared. The ostentatious appearance of narcissists hides fear and self-doubt.
A narcissist is a fragile personality who is afraid of humiliation, rejection, and even the smallest setbacks.
Instead of being afraid of him or what he might do to you, understand that a man is more afraid of you leaving him. Take advantage of your inner strength and overcome your fear of a narcissist.
10. Focus on yourself, not him
People with narcissistic personality disorder love to attract the attention of others. Instead of sacrificing yourself to meet his needs, focus on your own psychological, physical, and emotional needs.
Don't adjust your life to suit their thirst for attention. Don't let a narcissist shape your self-esteem.
Take care of yourself and love yourself. Pay attention to relationships where you are valued and loved, and focus on yourself instead of trying to fix a man.
