It's no secret that exercise has a positive effect on both overall health and figure. However, few people realize that even after the end of training, our body continues to burn calories in an intensive mode for a long time. That is, even while resting after a workout, you continue to lose weight.

For example, after 45 minutes of exercise on an exercise bike, you'll burn an additional 190 calories over the next 14 hours. Exercise bikes can be replaced by other activities, such as swimming or running. However, one condition must be met: training must be active. That is, you should actually be tired and sweaty, and you should feel a rapid heartbeat.

This fact has been proven by scientists from the American University of Appalachian University in Kannapolis, North Carolina.

Ten volunteers aged 22 to 33 participated in the experiment. On average, they each burned 519 calories per workout. After training, their bodies burned another 190 extra calories.

During the experiment, volunteers lived and trained in separate rooms. Scientists measured the amount of oxygen each participant consumed and the amount of carbon dioxide exhaled, and calculated the number of calories burned.

Professor David Nieman, head of the study, said: “I hope that the results of the study will encourage many people to finally exercise.” The professor believes that five intensive training sets with a moderate diet should be enough to lose 500 grams.

Despite the fact that only men participated in the experiment, the researchers believe that sports should have the same effect on women's bodies.
