Giant dinosaurs, which weighed about 30 tons each, and whose height is comparable to the height of a four-story building, apparently had sex in the same way that modern dogs do, like researchers reported.

It has long been known that dinosaurs once “ruled” the planet in some way, so they needed to breed well, but how exactly they mated remains a mystery to scientists.

“The most plausible mating position is when the male climbs from above the female and enters from below. Other positions don't come to mind,” says Kristi Curry Rogers, a professor of biology and geology at McAlester College in Minnesota.

Other researchers dispute this hypothesis and suggest that dinosaurs may have mated in water. They believe that it would be more difficult for them to have sex on land, and the water provided additional support to hold their multi-ton bodies. On the other hand, it is known that terrestrial dinosaurs were not related to water, moreover, some of them may have lived quite far from large water resources.

Just because dinosaurs were big animals doesn't mean they couldn't mate normally on land like elephants, for example.

How did 30-ton dinosaurs have sex?
