While some couples are lucky the first time, others may need a long time before a long-awaited pregnancy occurs. History knows cases when future parents found out the happy news after 15 or even 20 years of unsuccessful attempts to become pregnant.
How long does it take for a couple to get pregnant? Here we will only talk about healthy couples who do not have any special health problems.
So, according to a new survey, we found out the following:
On average, couples have sex 78 times since they decided to start trying to get pregnant. And before parents see the coveted two strips on the pregnancy test, it takes about 158 days, which corresponds to 5-6 months.

One of the famous maternity sites conducted a survey in which 1194 parents took part. As it turns out, to get pregnant, most couples made love 13 times a month.
While this might sound like 13 times the fun, it's far from it. When a couple decides to make love not for pleasure, but solely for the sake of conceiving a child, certain difficulties arise.
Eighteen per cent of men and women said that sex sometimes becomes a “must”, similar to forced labor.
Another 43 per cent admitted that they felt some pressure and even fear that conception might not occur.

Psychologists say: “When a couple decides to become pregnant, making love often loses its passion and ease and becomes hard work, often stressful.
After all, not every couple is lucky that they manage to get pregnant on the first attempt. So when you focus too much on your child, try to remember each other and the pleasure that physical intimacy gives you.”

What does pregnancy depend on?

And finally, the last question that worries many: what does the onset of a long-awaited pregnancy depend on?
Some people think it depends on the posture the partners choose. The same study found that the most popular position for conception is missionary (used by three-quarters of couples), followed by other positions (36 percent of couples choose them).
Other couples know that pregnancy takes place on specific days of the female cycle. Therefore, half of the women surveyed do everything possible to make love on “these favorable” days.
It should also be added that 39 percent of couples are trying to improve their diet and take additional vitamins to promote pregnancy.
Of course, any additional life hacks are welcome. However, only a doctor can give more specific information about when pregnancy may occur and whether one of the partners has any health problems.
